All About Caffeine
Naturally, there are contradicting views when it comes to the benefits of consuming caffeine. In this post, I will share my personal and professional opinion on the matter.
You must factor in bio-individuality. Your body may respond differently to caffeine than others. Although a cup or two a day is totally acceptable, your body may not tolerate it plain and simple. Listen to your physical body first and foremost. Perhaps herbal tea is more your style.
Caffeine is considered a stimulant. By regularly consuming caffeine you will train you brain to "need" or crave it. This is why it is important to be mindful of your tolerance for caffeine and how much you consume. If you find yourself becoming dependent off of your cups of coffee throughout the day then you may need to cut back.
Caffeine should not be your answer your to lack of energy. If you are one who relies on their caffeine "fix" in order to start or get through the day, then you may need to dig a little deeper and address the route cause of your fatigue. You may find out that those few cups of coffee are actually the reason for your decreased energy!
Caffeine is meant to be consumed earlier in the day so it does not disrupt your sleep. This is what usually causes the viscous cycle of poor energy and caffeine dependency. You must get an adequate amount of sleep to function properly (even if you think you don't)!
You should indeed drink more water in order to compensate for caffeine consumption. In general, you should limit your caffeine and always focus on MORE water!
On the contrary to all of this, if your body does tolerate caffeine well and you are not dependent of it then there are many health benefits of consuming a cup or two each day. YOU DECIDE!
